The last few months have been a wild ride. Without getting into the details of my life, this image sums it up. I have a poster of Hokusai’s “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa” which has travelled with me for some time (home to office to cubicle). I remember spending depressing days in the office staring at this poster. It wasn’t in a motivational way, but rather empathetic.
Now as I stare at it, it reminds me that life will always be like this. Maybe the wave isn’t going to overturn your boat, but you’re still having to navigate through them. Perhaps you’ve managed to get into a boat full of able, intellectual, and reliable people.
Brian and I have been resting. Just for a little while as we regain our composure. Now that this milestone is past us, we’re thinking of the next big goals. Best of all, we’re spending some time actually with each other and not scrambling to do ten things at once.
I owe you a short story by Sunday. If it’s not here, feel free to send me hate mail.
