We love East Side Kings – who doesn’t? What I don’t love, of course, is going to E. Sixth Street. And now, we simply cannot afford it. (You know, Tiny Park.) So, I found the recipe for Chicken Karaage and whipped it up.
The sauce was fairly easy. A version, and an improvement, upon the Vietnamese sauce I grew up with. I’ve never fried with corn starch and plan on experimenting more with it. Mine was satisfying, as usual I cut down on the amount of sugar and made too much of the sauce. It’ll make for a fantastic spring roll dip.
The dish turned out the same, but different. Extremely satisfying and not too much work. Perhaps I’ll make it for a Tiny Park holiday dinner. Who knows :]
